Our School Day
The school day begins at 08.45 every morning and ends at 15:15. We operate a one-way system where you enter the school grounds at the side gate situated on Castle Green. Pupils will be greeted by their class teacher who will take the children to class. Parents/carers are then asked to leave the playground via the front gate on School Road.

Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
08:45 - 15:15

Gates open at 8.35am and are locked at 08.45am for the safety of our pupils, after this parent/carers must bring children to the main school office where they will be marked in the register and given their late mark.
We have a range of assemblies throughout the week including British Values, Inclusion/Mental Health and Well-being, singing and Special Mention Celebrations. We are also lucky enough to have visits in such as Open the Book, COmmunity Police and Music Teachers from Rotherham Music Hub.

School Clubs
Laughton Junior and Infant school have a range of school clubs on offer for the children after school.
Cupcake Club
This club provides the children from all year groups with the opportunity to learn icing decoration skills. They learn about a range of cake decorating equipment and how these can be used safely to create different effects using fondant icing.
Craft Club
This club is for all year groups. Our main aim is to build up the children's confidence in expressing themselves through different art media. We teach skills, techniques and art styles so they can express their creativity. Children become familiar with using different materials/ techniques and explore their own ways of using them for individual expression. Each session builds on skills to then produce a final product, which the children can take home or form part of a school display. We have an open, friendly and supportive environment with each other and it is encouraged to champion each other's work during sessions and afterwards.

Allotment Club
This club provides the children with an opportunity to plant, grow and sell their own produce. It is available for all years groups on a rota basis.

Sports Club
We have a range of sporting activities that run throughout the year for different year groups. Some of these are run by Mr Kay who is a member of staff from Dinnington High School. The clubs include football, hockey, golf and rounders.

School Meals
School dinners are cooked and served daily by Ms Gore. A variety of meals are on offer, with 4 choices everyday.

The menus are on a 3 week rotation. If your child has any allergies please do not hesitate to inform the office and we will ensure we meet with you and the catering team to design a slightly amended menu and to write an allergy plan.

The school catering company work closely with us to make sure we are serving food the children like to eat whilst being balanced and healthy. We invite all parents of our Reception class to come in and taste our school dinners when their children start school. They also offer food tasting at parent's evening throughout the year. The food is delicious, just ask the many staff who have school dinners during the week.

Remote Learning
In line with government guidance, here at Laughton Junior SEND, we do not view remote education as an equal alternative to attendance in school. We will apply this guidance when the alternative would be that your child would not be receiving education. Remote learning will be provided at a bespoke level and agreed between school and home. It will be used to enable children to keep on track with their education and stay connected to school and their peers. More information around our remote learning offer can be found in our Attendance Strategy, located within the Policies and Reports section of our website.
